10. W16 Era

the W16 chapter of Bugatti’s story is about to close, with an open-topped roadster calledthe Mistral.They Announced today and to be shown at Monterey Car Week in California, the Mistral brings the W16 era to a close, ahead of the newly formed Bugatti Rimac switching to hybrid and eventually all-electric powertrains.



9 . Why Name Mistral?

Mistral gets its name from a wind that blows from the Rhône River valley and along the french riviera in southern France – fitting, given one would expect a roadster with Chiron levels of performance would be somewhat blustery.

The engine is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, propelling the Mistral to 261mph. Bugatti isn’t stopping there, however - it will be gunning for the title of world’s fastest roadster in due course, which is currently held by the 265.6mph.



7. Limited Production and Price

Only 99 Units of the Bugatti W16 Mistral will be built, priced at 5 million dollars net, with deliveries due to begin in 2024. The entire production run of W16 Mistral is already sold out.

Therefore, the W16 Mistral also debuts in a paint finish inspired by the Type 57 Grand Raid Roadster: a warm black with a touch of truffle brown and subtle yellow accents. This is both a homage to the Grand Raid body and to Ettore Bugatti. The company's founder chose the black and yellow combination for many of his personal vehicles, including his Type 41 Royale. For lovers of the brand, it's a timeless combination.
